History

NameNeodymiumPromethium
HistoryThe element Neodymium was discovered by C. A. von Welsbach in year 1885 in Austria. Neodymium derived its name from the Greek neos didymos meaning 'new twin'.The element Promethium was discovered by S. Wu,E.G. Segrè and H. Bethe in year 1942 in United States. Promethium derived its name from Prometheus of Greek mythology who stole fire from the Gods and gave it to humans.
