Does not support individual learning styles
If you are considering enrolling your son with special needs and/or disability look somewhere else. Our son with a visual impairment attended this school. It wasn’t until he was in Year 10 did we learn the school received payments from the Independent Schools Association to support our son’s needs. So the school pocketed the funds with no accountability and certainly did not support and “…teach him in the way that best supports his style of learning.”

      Look elsewhere
Despite their claims regarding caring for the students wellbeing the only thing that matters to this school is its reputation. The marketing is great spin and nothing else. One of the school counsellors is an ex student only there to protect the schools interests above anything else and certainly not there to assist with students to "Gain a sense of personal worth, develop an accompanying trust and acceptance of others and develop responsibility for their choices and behaviours." As for the recent news that the school is considering changing to co-ed I say to the mothers of girls run a mile. It will take a generation to prepare to change the misogyny and jock culture that exists at this school.

back in the good old days of 1918, where the spanish flu killed my english teacher and dinosaurs roamed the schoolyard, i attended the prestigious school Newington College. i entered the school as an innocent year 7 desperate to find his way through life and his destiny and left as an 18 year old man scarred by the experiences forced upon him. My first year saw me go to initiation for the school in the chapel which reminds me of a priest who once went to the school called Greg who loved to teach children a little too much if you know what im saying. My mate Jonas went to have a 'meeting' with the priest as a boy and came out as a man. he left the school two days later and was never the same. Anyways in Religious Education we were led to a dark chamber where we would take off our shirts and be branded with a hot iron in the shape of a cross and recite the entirety of Corinthians. If we so much as mentioned the world "god" in the wrong context we were locked in the chamber for 48 hours where we would recite the entire bible in complete darkness without food or water. I never went down there but this killed called Nelson got abducted in the middle of Math class and emerged two days later as a schizophrenic and muttering the words of Genesis. I did German for a language but when WW1 came around the headmaster called me into his office and beat the German out of me. Anyways i realised i forgot to capitalise god and i think i hear the priests at the front with their burning crosses send help byeeeeee.

Discipline system at Newington is useless. When you get in enough trouble to be dealt with by heads of house and/or head of students, you just get in even more trouble. The staff say they care about the boys but they never make sure everything’s okay when dealing with someone who consistently gets in trouble. They don’t bother asking the student if there is anything that they want to discuss and instead choose to punish them. This is not an effective system as there is usually something bothering the student and if the staff were to ask about it, then maybe the behaviour issues could be resolved. The staff believe that getting excessively angry at the students will help fix behaviour, but this only results in students becoming scared to talk to staff about issues because they are worried about getting in trouble or dealing with an angry staff member.

Kids aren't snobby except for a select few, but that is the case at any school. Great school.

rather exquisite. there are only very few snobby kids and a lot of the other students aren't rich with "lambos" and mansions bud instead live like most and put most of there money towards school fees which provide the best education. they could have the worst home situation but are here on a scholarship. just don't judge.
