The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has officially declared the Class 12 board exam results for the academic year 2024–25, highlighting not only impressive performances by individual toppers but also notable trends in pass percentages, district-wise rankings, and subject-wise excellence.
The announcement, which was eagerly awaited by students across the state, has provided a clearer picture of academic progress and the impact of post-pandemic learning reforms introduced in the last two years.
Meet the Toppers
This year’s state topper is Simranjeet Kaur from Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Patiala, who scored an outstanding 99.56% in the Humanities stream. Following closely are:
- Mandeep Singh, Commerce stream, 99.44%, from Ludhiana
- Harnoor Kaur, Science stream, 99.38%, from Amritsar
These students not only excelled in academics but also participated in extracurricular activities, reflecting the board’s increasing focus on holistic development.
PSEB officials emphasized that the toppers showed consistent performance in both theory and practical assessments, aided by regular attendance, internal school support, and a renewed curriculum aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

- Commerce Stream: 91.4% pass rate, showing better performance in Accountancy and Business Studies.
- Humanities Stream: Registered the highest pass percentage at 92.7%, with History and Political Science emerging as the most scoring subjects.

Rural schools also saw a rise in performance, narrowing the gap between urban and rural education standards — a goal long targeted by the state government.
Special Recognition and Trends
- Specially-abled students performed commendably, with a pass percentage of over 85%, thanks to enhanced accessibility and personalized mentoring.
- A growing number of students opted for vocational subjects, which contributed to improved employment-readiness after school.
- Nearly 1,200 schools achieved a 100% pass rate, a record-breaking number for the state.
PSEB also highlighted the contribution of its digital learning platform and offline support resources in helping students, especially in under-resourced areas.
What Lies Ahead
Students can access their mark sheets via the official website pseb.ac.in and also through the DigiLocker platform. Those unsatisfied with their results can apply for:
- Re-evaluation/Rechecking (open until May-end)
- Supplementary Exams, expected to be held in July 2025
Meanwhile, counselling sessions have been launched in schools to help students make informed decisions regarding undergraduate courses, vocational training, or competitive exam preparations.
Final Note
The 2025 Class 12 results not only spotlight academic excellence but also reflect a positive shift in Punjab’s education system. The achievements of top-performing students serve as an inspiration for thousands and underline the importance of consistent effort, quality teaching, and supportive learning environments.
