I joined my son Srikar in grade 3 in Oakridge International School. Today its been 5 years since then and he is in grade 8. A lot of improvements have happened in him in the last few years. Hes become more independent, confident and his public speaking skills have improved. He participates in dramatics and his stage fear is gone. He was very frightened of water and refused to swim. Its only because of the coach Sridhar that he learn to swim and is not afraid of water anymore. He has improved in studies over the years and learns keyboard in school as part of co curricular activities. School conducts workshops every year for enhancing the practical experience. He attended the solar panel workshop and cyber security training. I am very happy with the school and highly recommend it for complete personality development.

Being born and brought up in a family, where education was always the top priority, my father Dr. Minketan Pradhan always dreamt of sending me to a very good boarding school which will instill discipline in me and give me a holistic education. After seeing many schools, he finally chose Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam. Initially it was a very tough time for me to cope up with the new environment as I was stepping out of home for the first time. But as time passed by, I made many new friends and the teachers took a lot of care and were available for us at all times and Oakridge became a home away from home for me. I learnt new languages, participated in many activities, seminars and debates, MUN’s, Ocean Conservation Conference and Beach Cleaning. A lot of foreign universities came to our campus for educational seminars and we had university fairs which gave me immense opportunities to learn about what I wanted to study after schooling. Oakridge gave me the opportunity to learn swimming as a sport. The teachers here focus on the overall development of the child and make us street smart by giving us practical knowledge to face the future tomorrow. My grades improved and overall I became more disciplined become and self-reliant. While conversing with my houseparent about further studies, I got to know about various reputed universities in US and I decided to study their. After consultation with my school career counsellor Mrs Himabindu Thattraju, and proper guidance from our Principal I applied for University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC). I feel humbled to have got in a reputed university which has a world ranking of 185 and it was like a dream come true when I got a scholarship of $8000 per year. I would like to thank my parents, Arup Sir, Himabindu Mam, Jayaraj Sir, Deepti Mam and Biju Sir for helping me to get admission in the top university of USA. It motivated me a lot to perform well in my CBSE Board exams. The memories I have made in the campus will be always cherished. We use to have fun weekend outings where we were taken to MacDonald’s, KFC, watch live cricket matches at Visakhapatnam stadium, movies at school basketball court with dinner. As I usher into this new chapter of my life, I will remember Oakridge as the first stepping stone to my success.

My daughter Shyla joined Oakridge International School in Vizag in Grade 1. This is her 4th academic year and shes in grade 4 now. I have seen her grow every single day in this school. This school is a perfect blend of academics and sports and she participates in dance, music and swimming. All this enhances her personality and confidence. She participated in wintercamp in school and stayed on the campus for 3 days. It was the first time she stayed away from home. She got the best camper award. The schools gives a lot of exposure to the students to be upto the mark with the happenings in the society and the world. She is growing into a fine young girl respecting her elders, mingling with all age groups and having a good family bonding which are the most important aspects. The parents are involved in the activities of the school and are kept on loop with the happenings through emails. They arrange guest lectures for the parents as well to keep them aware of the general trends in education, sports and different backgrounds. They have coffee mornings for general discussions. Even though the school is located on the outskirts of the city, it is worth every effort to attend these events. I highly recommend this school to my friends and family. Last but not the least, this school has the best infrastructure in Vizag.

Looking for the right school is the biggest challenge people face these days and more so if you relocate from Doha, Qatar, then the difficulty level increases to match up the standards, curriculum, teaching methodology, holistic development and right values..... Oakridge matched up with all the requirements and I enrolled my two children Kriti and Ratik in Grades V and XI respectively. Its been over 2 years that my children are studying here and my son is now appearing for Grade 12 board exams. The support that is provided by the teachers deserves a special mention here. The children are kept motivated to do their best without the stress of appearing in the board exams. The teachers are available at all times to help the children with any problems and are present at the exam centre to boost the confidence. The assistance provided by the counsellors in guiding my son in choosing the right college in the US, preparing for SAT exam and interview helped him so much to get admission in his dream college. Mr.Jayraj and Ms.Bhanumati have provided him support and kept him motivated throughout his Oakridge journey. I would like to thank each and every teacher who has made the transition of my children so easy from one country to another and adjust so well and make new friends. Oakridge is the best school if you are looking for a holistic development in your child.

We moved from Singapore last year and channelized our energy into finding the right school for Keertika. Our concern was the adjustment issues that she would face in India. After carefully examining various campuses, we joined her in Oakridge International school. Once she started the school, she adjusted very well with the new surroundings, friends and teachers which in turn helped her adjust in a new city Vizag. Her smartness has been tapped by her teachers so well in encouraging her to participate in so many quizzes and Olympiad level exams where she continues to do very well and get Zonal, National and International ranks. Her securing 3 rd prize in English Olympiad on an international level with a cash prize of Rs.1000 has made her confidence soar high. And she keeps participating in In-house school competitions. The school keeps the young children completely engaged with the theme based teaching. Shes completely excited about her participation in the Snow white theme. Shes also learn swimming and various cultural dancing and kuchipudi in school and outsides as hobby. i am very happy and proud with her growth
