The Primary School Classes I – VI of GSIS is at the Fernhill Campus, the former Baroda Summer Palace in Ootacamund, overlooking the famed Ooty Lake.
The Middle School, High School and Higher Secondary School, Classes VII – XII are located in the 140-acre Palada Campus at Muthorai Palada. The Senior is campus is just 5 kms from Fernhill campus.
GSIS Library: there are four libraries in the school with over 48432 volumes of books, comprising references, prescribed texts and popular fiction.
School has 2 hospitals one in each campus with total 40 beds each for boys and girls.
School has a stadium with 1 400 meters track and gallery for spectators and a full fledged 9 hole golf course. School also has 30 riding horses will all related infrastructure.
School’s Indoor Sports Complex houses basketball courts, badminton courts, table tennis tables and gymnasium. School also has 8 tennis courts and 4 badminton courts built in open.
School also has an artificial lake created using PVC lining for water sports.
Safety & Security Measures at the School
The school has intrusion alarms and fire-fighting equipments installed. GSIS also has a fully equipped Fire Engine. The school has two hospitals with two Resident doctors and trained Staff nurses. Hospital is located in both Senior School and the Primary School campus.

GSIS Ooty has four houses Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Each student enrolled in the school is a member of one of these houses.
Many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are available for students to participate throughout the academic year. School has various sports club and the clubs take part in the inter school, district and state level competitions.
School has music teachers to trained students on instruments like sitar, tabla, dholak, flute, classical & plectrum guitar, piano, baritone, bugle, clarinet, french horn, keyboard, tambourine, ghatam, veena, mridangam, violin, viola, recorder, cello, trumpet, euphonium, xylophone, drum kit, snare drum, djembe drum and saxophone.
Students are also trained on various dances.
