IIM Sambalpur Introduces B.Sc. Programmes in Public Policy and AI to Shape Future Leaders

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur has taken a pioneering step by launching two new undergraduate programs starting from the academic year 2025. These include the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Management and Public Policy and the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. With this move, IIM Sambalpur becomes the first among the IIMs to offer undergraduate degrees, aligning with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

This program aims to develop future leaders for roles in governance, civil services, and public policy. It places a strong focus on sustainability, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices, and community-driven development.

The interdisciplinary curriculum blends public policy, management, behavioral economics, and technology. It includes internships with government bodies and NGOs, capstone projects, and a dissertation in the final year.

Admissions will be based on performance in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

This program is designed to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in data science and artificial intelligence. It aims to prepare students for careers in AI-driven industries, analytics, and research.

The program covers mathematics, statistics, programming, machine learning, and ethical AI practices. Students will also gain practical exposure through live industry projects and collaborations with tech firms.

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, also conducted by the NTA.
