There are several reasons for weak muscles such as muscle injury, lack of exercise or ageing. Sometimes, the cause comes out to be some kind of chronic disease like diabetes, heart disease or long-term depression. Prolonged muscle weakness can have dire consequences on the body of a person. Weak muscles will not let you do weight lifting or resistance exercises because these exercises involve lifting weights. You cannot do even bodyweight exercises because it gets too difficult to balance your body weight. After doing little work, your muscles will sore and you will have fatigue, that will further not let you do other things. Some other consequences include lack of mobility, pressure on joints and low metabolism (Rate at which body burns energy). It gets worse with age. You start relying more on people for doing basic things.
