   • Le Rosey is famous for its very luxurious and expansive campuses: its Rolle campus (on Lake Geneva) has two swimming pools, sailing center, tennis courts, equestrian center, and more.

   • In the winter term, the entire school moves to its Gstaad campus in the Alps - offering skiing, outdoor adventure, and a very distinctive boarding experience.

   • There is a state-of-the-art Arts & Learning Centre including a 900-seat concert hall.

   • According to school materials, there are “innumerable activities” and responsibilities for students to foster leadership, community engagement, and personal growth.

3. Holistic Extracurricular Programme

1. Extremely High Cost

   • The tuition and boarding fees are astronomical: reports put annual fees up to US$130,000 - 150,000 for boarding students.

   • Such costs make it accessible only to ultra-wealthy families, which raises questions about the inclusivity and diversity of the student body.

2. Bullying & Student Welfare

   • There is a well-publicized legal case: Indian billionaire parents Pankaj and Radhika Oswal sued Le Rosey, alleging their daughter faced bullying, harassment, and cyberbullying, and that the school failed to address it adequately.

   • According to Dr. Eric Debarbieux, an expert in school violence, the school may have downplayed or mishandled student reports of harassment.

   • There are also reports (from the Oswal family) of racial or cultural insensitivity: taunting related to Indian students’ ethnicity, dietary/religious choices (e.g., being vegetarian) allegedly by peers and, more seriously, by some staff.

   • The removal of the complaining student (non-renewal of re-enrolment) raised serious red flags for some parents.

3. Exclusivity / Elitism

   • The school is often described as a “playground for the very rich,” with a social atmosphere that some parents or alumni view as more about wealth and status than merit.

   • On social media (Reddit), some users noted that the school environment can feel very homogeneous in terms of wealth, background, and privilege. “If you look at the list of notable alumni … most of them are royalty … so to me it seems more like an exclusive club … not a meritocratic institution.”
