Not only for its nature and serene views, but Assam is known for its some well-known medical colleges too in the North-east region. The term ‘best’ cannot be used, very precisely for a certain college but some of the well-reputed medical colleges are as follows:-
1. Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh: It was the first medical college built in North-eastern India. It was formerly known as Berry White Medical School. It is one of the most well-respected colleges of Assam.
2. Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH): After the Assam Medical College, it was the second medical college built in Assam. It also functions as a health care institution. With offering many courses and being the second oldest college in Assam, it qualifies to be a premium college of North-east region.
3. Jorhat Medical College: It is located, in Jorhat region. It works as a medical college, hospital and medical research public university.
