Styrene, (known as ethenylbenzene, vinylbenzene, and phenylethene), is used too create polystyrene and several copolymers.  

Styrene is a carcinogen, especially in case of eye contact, but also in case of skin contact, of ingestion and of inhalation. In humans, Styrene is converetd into styrene oxide and is considered toxic, mutagenic, and possibly carcinogenic.

The styrene gas that leaked from LG Polymers on May 2020 has killed many in Visakhapatnam, India.
