Jaundice can be very dangerous. Improperly treated jaundice can lead to kernicterus, a kind of brain damage from high bilirubin levels. The baby should be kept where sunlight is coming like infront of a window without clothes. It should be made sure that it has only a diaper and eye protection on and eye protection is dense enough to keep out all sunlight. Baby’s skin should feel normal warmth, neither hot nor cool.
