How do you motivate a child that doesn't care?

A child's mind is carefree and reckless. Kids who are very playful , over energetic are very difficult to deal with. They require special care, and better handling so that their behavior can be reciprocated in a better way so that they understand us and obey to us.
Sometimes , they are just too lazy and carefree to care about anything that is going around them and don't pay any heed or attention to whatever they are being told. So how do we get to them?
How do we motivate them?
We motivate them, by rewarding. To motivate super lazy and carefree kids , the only way to motivate them is by introducing rewards for tasks and works they accomplish. They moment they see that they'll receive an award as soon as they complete a task, they will start working for the rewards. If this is let to continue, they will keep doing the tasks and after a point of time, their laziness will perish and their carefree nature will turn into that of a disciplined one and slowly completing tasks and works will become a habit and hence the complete change in the character of they kid.
