Admision Procedure

MBBS Admission Procedure and Eligibility for Admission – MBBS Course 2024 - 2025

The admission to Medical College, Kolkata MBBS course will be through NEET UG exam. Admission to MBBS Courses in India in Medical Colleges approved by MCI is through NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) [NEET (UG)] except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament e.g. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry. As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act and the Dentists Act, NEET UG will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses in India in Medical and Dental Colleges recognised and approved by Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Admission to all MBBS seats of Medical College, Kolkata and other Medical colleges in West Bengal state is purely on the basis of merit. Candidates who have appeared in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) and have cleared the NEET UG Exam conducted in the current academic year based on the NEET result are eligible for the admission. A Person will clear the NEET exam if marks obtained by the candidate are equal to or more than qualifying cut off marks. Such candidates can take part in the counselling for admission to MBBS at Medical College, Kolkata. In order to get admission in Medical colleges in West Bengal the candidate should also fulfill criteria laid down by the Government of West Bengal.

Department of Medical Education and Research, Government of West Bengal or the body nominated by the department will release the official notification for seeking applications along with the detailed procedure and schedule
Candidate who want to apply for Medical courses in West Bengal colleges have to apply online on the website of admission committee for the consideration of his candidature. Candidates have to submit the application or admission form within the time line released by the committee.
The department/Committee will prepare the result/merit list based on the NEET Score and other criterias. The merit list will be available on the website.
After declaration of merit list, selected candidates will be called for document verification and counselling/admission.
The department/Committee conducts two 2 rounds of counseling/ Seat Allocation and 1 MOP up admission

All government colleges have 15% of total seats for ALL India Quota. PG Admision Procedure

Medical Post Graduate Courses and PG Diploma Courses – Admission Procedure

As per Section (10) of Indian Medical Council Act 1956, Admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses in Medical Colleges approved by MCI in India is through NEET PG. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test PG (NEET-PG) is the single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses and PG Diploma Courses (MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses) in India.

They behave to the patients and their family members as if they have to pay for the treatment of patients from their father's pocket. They do never deliver the medical details to the patients family timely, when asked, they outrageously react to patient party. You can never know doctor's name, as unlike other hospitals, doctors here bear code names, A2,B2, you can never know who advised what. Nurses are highly arrogant and disgusting. They use to shout violently on patients and their families. You will find many people like me, who faced same. You can ask anyone about them.

Several times been here ..condition is good.. need to improve many things like toilet, drinking water and the clarity of the environment and they should have a free wifi around the square
