Admision Procedure

BDS Admission Procedure and Eligibility for Admission – BDS Course 2023 - 2024

The admission to Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College & Hospital, Calcutta BDS course will be through NEET UG exam. Admission to BDS Courses in India in Dental Colleges approved by DCI is through NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) [NEET (UG)] except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament e.g. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry. Know about AIIMS entrance exam & Admission Procedure and JIPMER Admission procedure.

As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act and the Dentists Act, NEET UG will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses in India in Medical and Dental Colleges recognised and approved by Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Admission to all BDS seats of Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College & Hospital, Calcutta and other Dental colleges in West Bengal state is purely on the basis of merit. Candidates who have appeared in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) and have cleared the NEET UG Exam conducted in the current academic year based on the NEET result are eligible for the admission.   • Department of Medical Education and Research, Government of West Bengal or the body nominated by the department will release the official notification for seeking applications along with the detailed procedure and schedule
  • Candidate who want to apply for Medical courses in West Bengal colleges have to apply online on the website of admission committee for the consideration of his candidature. Candidates have to submit the application or admission form within the time line released by the committee.
  • The department/Committee will prepare the result/merit list based on the NEET Score and other criterias. The merit list will be available on the website.
  • After declaration of merit list, selected candidates will be called for document verification and counselling/admission.
  • The department/Committee conducts two 2 rounds of counseling/ Seat Allocation and 1 MOP up admission

Dental Post Graduate Courses - MDS – Admission Procedure

As per Dentists Act 1948, Admission to Post Graduate MDS Courses in Dental Colleges Approved by DCI in India is through NEET MDS. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test MDS (NEET MDS) is the single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to Postgraduate Dental Courses (Dental PG Courses) in India.

Admission to PG Dental courses of AIIMS, New Delhi is not through NEET PG exam. Know more about NEET MDS exam. Know about AIIMS Admission Procedure and JIPMER Admission procedure.

Please note state government, private dental college and universities including the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh will NOT be conducting any separate entrance exam for admission to their MDS Courses for the academic session 2023 - 2024.

Very poor system. Usual government hospital. Doctors are sitting idle and patients queuing outside to get their papers stamped for several hours. Unnecessary harassment. My first experience was very bad. Guards also at every department just keep you shuffling from here to here and do not even bother to guide you to proper place. I left without getting treated and am not going to return ever.

First of all the reviews posted are paid reviews and are just fake, I don't think any of these guys have ever visited the dental hospital. Worst behavior, horrible condition, harassing the patients, not responding to simple queries. Hey Guys from the clinic, you are paid to serve the patients, have to have enough patience, that's what you are paid for.
