According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the best place for a baby to sleep is in his parents' bedroom. He should sleep in his own crib or bassinet (or in a co-sleeper safely attached to the bed), but shouldn't be in his own room until he is at least 6 months, better 12 months.

Hi there,

It is completely fine to let your baby sleep alone. But if your baby is in tender age, it is important to ensure a regular monitoring to understnad the sleeping behavior of the baby. Sometimes babies get frightened and start crying when they woke up in the midddle and see nobody. So it is better to monitor that for sometime & act accordingly.

Hope this helps.

Best Wishes.

Yes , it is completely fine and perhaps good to let your kids sleep alone.
As visible, a lot of indian kids have an habit of sleeping wih parents untill they grow up.
But if we observe in foreign countries, kids are made to sleep separately after the age of 10.
They need to be made to sleep separately alone , so that they develop a sense of maturity and that emotional development that their parents wont be with them forever and that they might be required to go to hostels, or to study abroad. At that time they will face unnecessary problems of not being able to sleep because of the emotional attachments they developed while they slept beside their parents .
But when they are made to sleep differently and separately, they dont have to deal with the problem of over attachment of emotions with their parents while going to sleep.
This sense of maturity of sleeping alone enables them to struggle and strive in this world a bit better than the overly pampered kids sleeping with their parents throughout their childhood.
So sleeping alone for a kid is very beneficial and helps the kids psychology later on in his life.

That's All folks
