The government sanctioned the establishment of a medical college at Tirupati on 9 April 1960. The TTD leased 200 acres of land and Sri Venkateswara Medical College (popularly called SVMC) was inaugurated on 25 July 1960.

Sri Radhakrishna Ramnarain Ruia of Mumbai, a devotee of Lord Balaji, thought of starting a 100-bedded hospital at Tirupati, located at the foot of the Tirumala hills, to cater to the medical needs of the pilgrims and general public.

First batch of students graduated in 1967. In 1975-76, postgraduate courses were started.

Admision Procedure

MBBS Admission Procedure and Eligibility for Admission – MBBS Course 2024 - 2025

The admission to Sri Venkateswara Medical College (S V Medical College), Tirupati MBBS course will be through NEET UG exam. Admission to MBBS Courses in India in Medical Colleges approved by MCI is through NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) [NEET (UG)] except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament e.g. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry. As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act and the Dentists Act, NEET UG will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses in India in Medical and Dental Colleges recognised and approved by Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Admission to all MBBS seats of Sri Venkateswara Medical College (S V Medical College), Tirupati and other Medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh state is purely on the basis of merit. Candidates who have appeared in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) and have cleared the NEET UG Exam conducted in the current academic year based on the NEET result are eligible for the admission. Candidate who want to apply for Medical courses in Andhra Pradesh colleges have to apply online on the website of admission committee for the consideration of his candidature. Candidates have to submit the application or admission form within the time line released by the committee.
The department/Committee will prepare the result/merit list based on the NEET Score and other criterias. The merit list will be available on the website.
After declaration of merit list, selected candidates will be called for document verification and counselling/admission.

As per Section (10) of Indian Medical Council Act 1956, Admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses in Medical Colleges approved by MCI in India is through NEET PG. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test PG (NEET-PG) is the single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses and PG Diploma Courses (MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses) in India.

Please note state government, private dental college and universities including the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh will NOT be conducting any separate entrance exam for admission to their MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses for the academic session 2024 - 2025.

Qualityâ Treatment. Well known hospital. 24/7 emergency cases handling. All kind of imaging services, MRI scans, CT scanning available. All kind of departments are there like neurology, cardiology, orthopaedic, nephrology, pathology, nuclear medicine, radiology, oncology, urology....And so on. All kinds of surgery services providing. Free treatment available for white ration cards holder, govt.employees... Many are there. Neat maintenance. Almost all doctors have good Experienced persons. General beds, Water bed, soft beds and folding beds available for patients. Price range is Moderate. Doctors are moving with patients very friendly. For first time consulting with doctor may take 3 to 4 hours of time, later it may take around 30 minutes. Most of the time crowded specifically at business hours.

I do not have any other option to decrease their rating. I felt they are unfit for their jobs. Most of them doesn'tâ know how to behave with the patients. They are very rude with the patients .
