In class X, Students will be assessed on the Scholastic Area, co-Scholastic Activities and Discipline (Attendance, Sincerity, Values).

The CBSE students have to study 5 subjects and 1 vocational subject in class 10th as part of Scholastic Area.. CBSE has made it compulsory for class 10 students to appear for a vocational subject as an additional course.

Overall Assessment Pattern

In each subject student will get marks out of 100. Students have to secure 33% marks in board examination and internal assessment separately in each subject. Refer to the below table for overall assessment pattern for Languages, Science, Mathematics and Social Studies.

CBSE Board will conduct Class X examination for 80 marks in each subject covering 100% syllabus of the subject of class X only.
Internal Assessment – Periodic Test10 Marks
Periodic Written test restricted to 3 in each subject. Average of the best 2 tests will be taken for final marks submission
Internal Assessment – Notebook Submission5 Marks
This will cover Regularity, Assignment Completion and Neatness & upkeep of notebook
Internal Assessment – Subject Enrichment Activity5 Marks

  • Social Science: Map work and Project Work

The assessment pattern for additional subject depends on the subject selected by the student. As mentioned above students can select any language or any subject from additional subject list as 6th subject.
