Selection Process
The selection procedure for Agniveer Vayu consists of multiple stages:
- Online Examination: A computer-based test assessing general knowledge, English, physics, and mathematics.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Includes running, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats within a time limit.
- Adaptability Test – I & II: Assesses the candidate's ability to adapt to the military environment.
- Medical Examination: Conducted as per Indian Air Force medical standards to ensure fitness for duty.
All selected candidates will be enrolled for a four-year tenure as Agniveers in the Indian Air Force.
Service Conditions and Benefits
During their service period, Agniveers will receive:
- A monthly package starting from approximately ₹30,000, increasing annually
- Risk and hardship allowances as applicable
- A Seva Nidhi package after completing four years, consisting of approximately ₹11.7 lakh (tax-free)
- Insurance cover of ₹48 lakh during the service period
- A certificate of service and priority consideration for further employment or higher education
At the end of the four-year term, up to 25 percent of the Agniveers may be offered a regular role in the Indian Air Force based on merit, performance, and organizational requirements.
