History

NameZirconiumTantalum
HistoryThe element Zirconium was discovered by H. Klaproth in year 1789 in Germany. Zirconium derived its name from Persian Zargun, 'gold-colored'; German Zirkoon, 'jargoon'.The element Tantalum was discovered by G. Ekeberg in year 1802 in Sweden. Tantalum derived its name from King Tantalus, father of Niobe from Greek mythology.
