Highlights of NEET UG 2020 : Admission to MBBS/BDS Courses

As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2016 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2016, National Testing Agency (NTA) has conducted NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) – 2020 [NEET(UG)-2020] for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament e.g. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry. Statistics about NEET UG 2020. As many as 13,66,945 candidates had appeared for the NEET UG 2020 exam. Of the 7,97,042 candidates who qualified the NEET UG 2020, 4,27,943 are girls, and 3,43,556 boys, and one are transgenders.

In NEET UG 2019 a total of 14.10 lakh students appeared for the exam of which 7.97 lakhs qualified the exam. NEET UG 2018 was organised in 10 languages in 136 cities (2255 examination centres) across India. A total of 13.3 Lakh students appeared for the exam. While NEET UG 2017 was organised in 10 languages in 103 cities across India. A total of 11.4 Lakh students appeared for the exam. NEET 2020 Cut off Marks Category Wise Cut off Percentile – NEET Result 2020

Based on cutoff marks and cutoff percentile in NTA NEET 2020 result, candidates will be shortlisted for the further process for admission into MBBS & BDS courses 2020. There will be state wise cutoff based on the respective category.

This year the NEET cut off is lower than last year. Refer to the table below for details of the candidates qualified the NEET 2020 exam on the basis of the minimum qualifying criteria of NEET-UG, 2020 :-

Overall Exam Stats

According to NTA, 79.31 percent of candidates appeared for the exam in English, while 11.84 percent appeared for it in Hindi. 8.86 percent candidates appeared for the exam in regional languages.
