Read this article to know about Assam State UG medical admission counselling 2019-20, timetable and schedule, Merit List, Rank, Online Registration and for Detailed information about private and government Medical and Dental Colleges in Assam. The admission into MBBS and BDS course in all Medical and Dental Colleges in Assam will be through NEET UG only.  Directorate Of Medical Education & Training, Assam, Guwahati will be conducting Admission to UG Medical Professional courses and NEET UG Counselling for admission in Medical and Dental Courses (MBBS and BDS) in Assam Medical and Dental Colleges to academic year 2019-2020 and will publish Merit List, Ranks and other UG Medical admission process. Online Counseling will be conducted by Director of Medical Education, Assam. The counseling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses will be on the basis of NEET UG Result 2019 declared by the NTA, New Delhi and other parameters /criteria mentioned by the Government for the Assam State. Admission Committee will conduct Counseling for the Assam state Quota Seats/Government Seats and Private Management and NRI Quota seats in Medical and Dental Colleges in Assam for MBBS and BDS courses. NTA organises National Eligibility and Entrance Test Medical Entrance Exam Under Graduate (NEET-UG) every year for admission to any graduate medical course in government or private medical colleges. Admission UG courses MBBS and BDS to All India Medical and Dental Colleges approved and recognised by MCI and DCI is through NEET UG.

For the admission in academic session 2019-20, the NTA conducted the NEET (UG) 2019 entrance test on May 2019. NEET UG 2019 result was announced on June 2019. As part of the NEET UG result NTA provides marks scored and All India Rank (Percentile secured) to the candidates.

Of the total MBBS and BDS courses seats available for admission in 2019-20 in Government and Government Aided MCI and DCI approved colleges, following is the distribution of seats

All India Quota 15% of total Seats in the colleges

Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Oversees Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats.

Online counselling would be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services for these seats. Information for online counselling would only be available on Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website (www.mcc.nic.in).

State Quota remaining 85% seats  The counselling of 85% seats state quota will be conducted by the state medical counselling authority

Admission under 85% State Quota Seats shall be subject to reservation policy and eligibility criteria prevailing in the State/Union Territory. Out of these 85% seats, few seats are reserved for North East states.

Eligibility Criteria for admission to Assam Medical and Dental Colleges - UG Courses including MBBS & BDS

  1. Be a Citizen of India
  2. Students applying for NRI seat should be Non Resident Indian or children of a non resident Indian (NRI means the children or wards of a person of Indian origin residing outside India)
  3. Should be of atleast 17 years of age on the 31st December of the academic year for which the admission are being conducted
  4. The candidates must be permanent native of Assam or Children of All India Civil Service officers serving in state of Assam cadre.
  5. Meet Minimum qualifying marks in HSC examination and NEET

Candidate must have passed +2 in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually. Must have secured minimum % in Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Biotechnology taken together 60% 50% 45%
Must have Qualified NEET in the same year 50 percentile 40 Percentile 45 percentile

Eligible candidates must bring following documents at the time of counseling

  1. Duly filled Application form of Schedule I
  2. Admit Card & Score Card of NEET UG 2019
  3. Marks sheets of 10+2 secondary examination
  4. Admit card of HSLC or equivalent examination
  5. Pass certificate of HSLC and equivalent
  6. Pass certificate of HSSLC and equivalent
  7. PRC
  8. Caste and other reserved category certificates

One set of photo copies have to be submitted at the time of counseling

1st Round of  counseling for selection of eligible candidates for admission into MBBS/BDS courses will be held from 29th June to 5th July'2019 from 10 AM onwards at Office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam, Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati-22 as per schedule mentioned below
