Infants are babies with 4-11 months of age. There are certain mistakes the first time mothers make related to feeding of their infant, hence, here is a list of tips to help you out:

1. Breast milk is the healthiest milk for a baby. It is full of all the nutrients a baby needs, therefore, it is preferred to always breastfeed the infant.

2. In some cases, breast milk or breastfeeding is not the option. In that case, formula-based milk is an apt choice for the baby. Reach out to your paediatrician for that.

3. While breastfeeding, hold your baby gently so he is comfortable in getting nursed.

4. Feed your baby frequently but on getting cues. Never force your baby to feed extra. They know very well how much they need.

5. After feeding your baby, try to burp your baby to eliminate the gas he swallowed while feeding. Pat or rub his back gently when sitting on your lap or resting on your shoulder.

6. After six months of his birth, you can try some solid foods too like cereals in soluble form with the consultation of your paediatrician but babies usually don't like such cereals.
